Drunk Memphis Karen Embarrasses Herself at Historic Peabody Hotel: ‘Villain to Victim, the Karen Playbook’

Being embarrassed or humiliated in public is one of my biggest fears. I am absolutely mortified at the idea of doing something that will gather the attention of people around me, let alone that of security or police. In Memphis, Tennessee, one woman decided to test the limits of just how far an intoxicated woman could go when she decided to make a fool of herself at the historic Peabody Hotel. It’s honestly incredible to see just how well the staff handled the whole thing.

The above video was posted to the TikTok account @angilea1, and features an incredibly loud woman trying to convince various hotel employees that she isn’t intoxicated. You can see her trying to make light of the situation as staff attempt to get her to leave the bar at the Peabody Memphis. Unfortunately, she doesn’t see it that way and immediately becomes combative, claiming, “I’m not intoxicated!“

It’s unclear what it is exactly transpired just before this interaction; however, you can clearly hear the woman say at the beginning of the video, “Why do I need to call my husband?‘ implying that maybe he is also staying there with her. As the conversation continues, the woman becomes a little more aggressive, trying to run away from and dodge the employees in an attempt to escape.

In a different video, also posted to the same account, things look to have taken a turn for the worse, with the woman on the floor, screaming. In the replies of the original video, commenters were quick to make fun of the woman’s actions, with one person saying, “The number of people who declare in public, “I’m not intoxicated,” who were actually not intoxicated is zero.“

Another comment specifically pointed out the woman’s actions, saying, “VILLIAN TO VICTIM, THE KAREN PLAYBOOK.” By this, they meant that the woman was originally being combative, trying to get the staff to leave her alone before screaming and claiming that they were instead harrassing her.

Tons of people were in agreement with this specific comment, one person saying, “she saw the camera and immediately switched roles😂😂.” Judging by the way things look to have ended, the woman didn’t get her way and was likely escorted out of the place. Hopefully, she’s learned never to act like this again in public, at least if she’s ever allowed into a bar in the area again.
