Life is like a hurricane, here in Duckburg… and also, in the beloved hearts of the late 80’s to early 90’s fans of Duck Tales. The series has received the first image of the wacky-duck family posted on Disney’s blog. Announced this past year, Duck Tales is a cartoon series that is supposed to get a reboot sometime 2017. The first image was released today and found in it was everything a fan might build hype over.
As seen in the photo above Scrooge McDuck and his trouble-making grandchildren are up to their antics – along with Donald and maybe an older version of Webbigal Vanderquak? The bandwagon of misfit travelers could be seen driving in a cheap jeep ($100 label found bottom right bumper) avoiding spears being chucked at them. Though the first image vaguely explained what the reason for spears being thrown or intense driving but one thing is for sure, the duck team is back!
Duck Tales originally aired back in 1987 and end in 1990. The show was one of the more popular shows to air and was critically acclaimed – even went as far to win two Emmy Awards. When the original reboot of the Duck Tales for the Nintendo was re-released for the next-gen consoles 3 years ago (Duck Tales: Remastered) this may have come as no surprise of the reboot toward the series. Duck Tales will be returning to the tube sometime in 2017 on Disney XD.
