The trend of crossover events isn’t limited to battle royale games only. One of the latest zombie action RPG games is collaborating with one of the biggest franchises ever. The Dying Light 2 x Walking Dead crossover event has just begun, and players worldwide can participate to unlock an iconic weapon and other cosmetics from Robert Kirkman’s comic series. The event will run for a week, providing several tasks to give players something new to do. Besides that, players have to work as a team to reach a certain community goal that will unlock another iconic item from the series. If you wanted an excuse to play Dying Light 2, you have it now.

Dying Light 2 x Walking Dead Crossover Brings Lucille and Rick’s Hat.

As mentioned, the Dying Light 2 x Walking Dead crossover event will run from July 26 to August 2. On these days, players will get different challenges to unlock Lucille as a weapon as well as the blueprints. Those who meet certain goals will contribute to the community score needed to unlock Rick’s iconic hat. And if that wasn’t enough, reaching the event’s goal will unlock the Sheriff’s hat memento. These are fantastic items for those who love the legendary comic book series or the show.

It is terrific to see Dying Light 2 getting a crossover event like the one with The Walking Dead. The game is still fun even a year after its release, and many people still play it. If you want to complete the event’s challenges, here’s the list of what you have to do:

  • Day 1: Kill 50 Bandits/Renegades with a blunt weapon
    • Reward: The Walking Dead Comic Cover 1
  • Day 2: Kill 120 Infected with environmental damage (spikes, traps, etc.)
    • Reward: The Walking Dead Comic Cover 2
  • Day 3: Kill 120 enemies with fall damage
    • Reward: The Walking Dead Comic Cover 3
  • Day 4: Kill 150 enemies using ranged weapons
    • Reward: The Walking Dead Comic Cover 4
  • Day 5: Dismember 150 Infected using slashing weapons
    • Reward: The Walking Dead Comic Cover 5
  • Day 6: Kill 120 Infected using explosives
    • Reward: The Walking Dead Comic Cover 6
  • Day 7: Kill 80 Special Infected by any means necessary
    • Reward: The Walking Dead Comic Cover 7

As you can see, the challenges aren’t hard, and you’ll likely finish all of them just by roaming the streets and kicking some zombie butt.

Dying Light 2 is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
