Dying Light was first released in January of 2015, and since then has been expanded upon with new downloadable content. The game received various content updates, from skin packs, a battle royale mode, and a full-fledged expansion.
The last major update for the game came with The Following expansion. The expansion shifted the game from tightly packed cities to wide-open areas.
Hellraid DLC Named After On-Hold Techland Project
The announcement of the DLC came with a short teaser video. In the video, it shows a room covered in sigils, and an arcade machine appearing from a hell portal.
The arcade machine screen then flickers on, showing the Dying Light and Hellraid logos. There is also text on the screen with Insert Soul on it.
It is not clear what this DLC will consist of, but Techland says that more information will be coming soon.
Hellraid was a previous project created by Techland but was put on hold to focus development on Dying Light. The game was set to be a mix of Dead Island and The Elder Scrolls, with an obvious focus on the demonic.
From what Techland has said, Dying Light and Hellraid seem to have a lot in common in terms of its co-op gameplay and action.
While the original game was put on hold, mobile spin-off Hellraid: The Escape was released in 2014.
What is the future for Dying Light?
Those hoping this means that Dying Light 2 is on the way will be disappointed. While the game was set to release in spring 2020, it has since been delayed with no new release date.
The next DLC for Dying Light is coming soon, though. The Hellraid DLC is set to release this summer.
