During Microsoft’s conference, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, which is the follow-up to the beloved platformer Ori and the Blind Forest, was revealed in all its 4k glory. The wordless teaser was shown over a beautifully somber melody from returning composer, Gareth Coker.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps

In nearly two and a half minutes, the trailer panned through gorgeously imagined environments- from dark forests to fields ravaged by fire, every moment came to life while evoking strong emotions from the crowd. Ori and the Will of the Wisps was the perfect game to show off the power of the highly anticipated Xbox One X, which shed its Project Scorpio name today.

While there was no gameplay shown for The Will of the Wisps, fans got a good taste of what this new installment has to offer. It is likely the game will keep its metroidvania elements that we were familiar with in Ori and the Blind Forest. Unfortunately, there is no release date for the game yet or even a release window. The trailer only promises “a new journey begins.”
