XCOM 2 has been teasing a new expansion announcement coming at E3, and that expansion led off the PC Gaming E3 showcase. Entitled XCOM 2: War of the Chosen, it looks to be a huge addition to an already massive game. The Chosen are a trio of alien “champions,” each with different abilities that the player must contend with multiple times throughout the playthrough. These alien superbosses will surely test your patience (and the strength of your keyboard – don’t get too frustrated), and will supposedly adapt their abilities to your playstyle.

There are also a few new classes for players to choose from, which are going to be some of the most powerful and versatile yet in the XCOM universe. These classes are the reaper, the skirmisher, and the templar. In addition to the new bosses, these new classes will need to be powerful to fend off what are known as “the lost.”

Be careful of treading into spoilers here for those who have not finished XCOM 2. The population has been decimated, and have become a group of  zombie like creatures known as “the lost.” They are weak individually, but the new mission type will send players into the cities. Here, they must fend off massive swarms of these creatures in order to try to take back the planet and fight off ADVENT and the other, new threats the team will face.

XCOM 2: War of the Chosen will not take long to release. It is coming for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on August 29th. Polish those rifles and outfit your team. It’s coming soon. Good luck, commander. Check out the trailer for the new expansion below:
