EA Permanently Bans Kansas Woman for Reporting Cheater in Battlefield 6: ‘They Punished the Wrong Person’

The AI bot support makes the situation even worse

Ever since the viral “rock flick” controversy with streamer RileyCS in Battlefield 6, cheating has always been a topic of conversation in EA’s latest release in the Battlefield series. Of course, cheating has always been an issue in just about every PvP-centric game, but things get slightly more infuriating when little or nothing is done about it. Or worse: the wrong people get punished for reporting a cheater, which is exactly what happened to a man’s gamer wife in Kansas. Her EA account of 12 years was permanently banned out of the blue after she reported someone she thought was cheating.

“No warning, no evidence ever given,” the husband explains on Reddit, going over how the couple has been trying to get help from EA customer support for well over a month now, but to no avail. “EA refuses to show any proof, refuses to read her explanations, refuses escalation,” he states, and the only thing support has revealed was that the ban reason was “gameplay enhancement.” “Their automated AI slop support is worthless,” the man said, clearly defeated from all the stress of dealing with the Battlefield 6 ban.

The Wife Keeps Getting Denied by EA Support’s AI Bot

“She has tried every way possible to escalate the issue and try to get management involved or someone higher up in the TOS team but they have continually ignored her and just keep denying her. She has now officially been banned for literally no reason for a month.”

“This company’s behaviour really worries me,” remarks a commenter, as another response groans about how EA customer service is done poorly because of bad AI bot support. “Man, I’m seeing a lot of false positives being posted about, it really makes me worry that I’ll lose access to this $70 game I bought for no good reason with no recourse,” another player added.

Getting banned wouldn’t be such a big deal for innocent players if support were able to properly restore their accounts. But the AI bot craze with companies like EA has made getting even basic assistance so much more of a pain. As OP says, “Maybe someone at EA will finally look and realize they punished the wrong person.”
