Ghanaian comedian Michael Blackson playfully mocks Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce as a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan. The TV personality’s team is set to face the Kansas City Chiefs at the upcoming Super Bowl 59. Their showdown marks a highly-anticipated rematch since the Eagles lost to the Chiefs in Super Bowl 57.
On that note, Blackson is looking forward to the big game and hopefully witnessing a less confused Swift. The comedian dissed the record-breaking singer as clueless, claiming she knew nothing about football. “Oh, my goodness. Taylor Swift, you gotta think about it. This is her second year. Now, I think she knows a little bit more about football now,” he teased, adding:
“I mean, last year, I was watching her watch the game, and I’m like, ‘This lady has no idea what she’s looking at.’ I mean, she’s cheering at the wrong time. Clapping when you’re not supposed to clap, you know?”
Despite his criticism, The Michael Blackson Show star applauded Swift for bringing more girls to football. He noted more females watched the sport for the singer’s sake, but he still wasn’t impressed with her game knowledge. Blackson went on to mock the entertainer’s lover, whose name he couldn’t recall. Instead, he described Kelce as “the guy that changes his face every leap month.”
Blackson joked about Kelce’s ever-changing features, noting he would sport a beard then suddenly switch to a mustache. “I don’t even know his name. I just call him Taylor Swift’s boyfriend,” the comedian confessed. Additionally, he told TMZ Sports he was curious how the athlete’s features would appear at the Super Bowl.
Critics Bash Taylor Swift for Ruining Sports After Her PDA Moment With Travis Kelce
While Blackson mocked Swift for being clueless about football, some critics saw her as a nuisance to the sport. We covered the drama days earlier, reporting many disapproved of her PDA moment with Kelce. The NFL shared two clips of the couple’s celebratory kiss following the Chiefs’ victory over the Buffalo Bills.
The first video captured the Bad Blood hitmaker on the field with Kelce, pulling him in for sweet kisses. The athlete reciprocated by giving her sides a loving squeeze. Their love continued in the second clip, with the pair holding on to each other while greeting fans. But the NFL’s decision to promote the lovebirds did not sit right with many.
“Why is this news, why is this chick ruining football for guys?” a critic bashed the upload on X. Another echoed similar sentiments, slamming the NFL for biased treatment. The X user stressed that Kelce and Swift were not the only couple on the field. “What about other players and their wives and girlfriends and families showering them with love after the win?” the fan wondered.
The negative responses were nothing new, as critics cheered for the Bills ahead of their match with the Chiefs. These football lovers noted they supported the Bills because they did not want more “Tayvis” content at the Super Bowl. The criticisms stemmed from beliefs that Swift had influenced Kelce’s slow performance at the start of the season.
