Cococucumber is a little known indie studio that develops various games for different systems. They’re lower on the radar than most indie companies, but their games are all filled with passion and art players love. Their latest title Riverbond is a fun co-op game that we recommend you look into. Its been a little while since that game’s release though, and the team is looking to their next title. Echo Generation releases on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X next year, introducing fans to the world of this fictional, small Canadian town. You can find the intriguing reveal trailer below.

What is Echo Generation?

Echo Generation takes place in the summer of 1993 in Canada, where everything seems okay. That is until an unknown object crash lands in the nearby cornfields. Bizarre phenomenon is appearing all over town, and adults are not paying attention. It looks like it’s up to the kids to solve this mystery. In this turn-based adventure game, you must investigate eery locations, battle increasingly disturbing monsters, and uncover the secret behind these monsters to save your town.

I’ve only seen the trailer and the premise, and Echo Generation already has me intrigued. I have gotten into some turn-based titles lately, so to have another beautiful looking one would be very interesting. Martin Gauvreau, Director of Echo Generation had the following to say about the title:

With this game, we wanted to capture the feeling of being a kid in the hazy summertime, where the world is yours to discover and everything seems possible. Beyond a familiar facade lurks a dangerous world of mystery and adventure — if you dare to venture into the unknown.”

I might be a fan of Echo Generation, but I’d love to hear your thoughts. Do you think Echo Generation looks good enough to stand out from the crowd? Are there any turn-based games that you hold near and dear to your heart? Tell us your thoughts, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
