This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Bandai Namco had already confirmed that Eddy Gordo would be making his way to Tekken 8 as the first DLC character for season 1 but now has also announced the release date along with a gameplay trailer. The trailer shows Eddy’s moveset which should be familiar to anyone who played him in the past, and he will join the roster on April 1 at 16:00 PDT for everyone who got the season pass. If you planned on buying him separately, then you will have to wait until April 4 to do that.

Eddy Gordo will be the first of a total of four characters that will join the Tekken 8 fighters over the course of 2024. Season 1’s other characters will be added later this year. The actual release dates will be confirmed in the future along with their identities.

Eddy Gordo Release Date Confirmed for Tekken 8 as the First DLC Character for Season 1

If you’ve ever played any game in the Tekken series, Eddy will be instantly recognizable. He has been a fan-favorite (or not) since Tekken 3, when he was often referred to as the most annoying character in the game due to his ability to spam his kicks which were relatively difficult to deal with.

Tekken 8 has been very successful since its release, selling over 2 million copies within the first month. But at the same time, fans of the series are not happy with the game’s focus on aggressive play, especially at the higher levels. To top it off, Tekken 8 has not employed any of the beginner-friendly features of other fighting games like Street Fighter 6.

Hopefully, with a few balance updates in the future, Bandai Namco can get a grip on the unstoppable pressure of some characters and also reveal the rest of the characters coming in season 1 of Tekken 8.
