The Edge of Spider-Verse limited series officially kicks off on August 3, but Edge of Spider-Verse #2 is when things really heat up. This upcoming series sees the Spider-Verse expand beyond what we all thought we knew. New Spider-personas are introduced, as well as some fan favorites. While the first issue brings four unique adventures set across the sprawling Spider-Verse, the second issue is where things begin to kick off.
What to Expect in Edge of Spider-Verse #2
Four different creative teams bring four different stories to the second issue of the Spider-epic. This follows a similar format to the first issue. First, legendary Spider-Man writer Dan Slott and artist Paco Medina are bringing a pivotal chapter to the Spider-Verse series. It sees the return of the mysterious Spider-Wasp, Shathra. This unique hero comes from the mysterious and intriguing astral plane. Could they be behind the destruction of the Spider-Verse?
Next up, writer Ramzee and artist Ruairí Coleman team up to introduce the first adventure featuring Spider-UK. This British Spider-persona is designed by artist Zoe Thorogood. She features a specially designed variant cover for the issue. Then, writer Mallory Rosenthal and artist Ig Guara bring a Spider-Man battle of epic proportions to the issue. The duo pits Ghost-Spider against Mysterio in a battle not to be missed.
Finally, artist Chris Giarrusso is bringing together some of the most popular Spider-Heroes for a new Mini-Marvels strip. Edge of Spider-Verse #2 hits shelves two weeks after the first issue on August 17.
What Else Will This Limited Series Bring?
As the Spider-Verse ends, another chapter in Spider-Man’s mythos begins. Visionary writer Dan Slott uses the limited series to lay the groundwork for Spider-Man #1. This is an all-new and ongoing series launching later this year. Featuring art from Mark Bagley, the new series will begin at the very end of the Spider-Verse. However, not much is revealed about what the series will look like when it launches.
