Konami and Juventus FC have announced an exclusive partnership starting with eFootball PES 2020, which will be the only console football game to feature the legendary Italian team. This deal brings an end to Juventus’s partnership with EA Sports and FIFA, with star players Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala being the cover players in recent FIFA titles.
This new partnership will bring 3D player scans, authentic kits, and their home Allianz stadium in the game. This is what the two parties had to say:
“Our comprehensive partnership with Juventus FC, one of the greatest teams in the world, is a clear statement of intent for eFootball PES 2020 – the only console game where you can play as the Italian giants. With eFootball PES, playing is believing and we’re proud to have Juventus FC believe in us and our exciting future together”. – Jonas Lygaard, Senior Director Brand and Business Development at Konami Digital Entertainment.
Chief revenue officer at Juventus FC Giorgio Ricci was excited with the new partnership:
“We are particularly proud of the partnership signed with Konami. This agreement sees two global football and entertainment icons, PES and Juventus partnering together for the next three years, and it will allow us to easier identify with our younger fans, as well as increase our appeal to both sports fans and those of e-sports”
Good for eFootball PES 2020, What About FIFA?
The FIFA games are the most popular football games on the market. They are loved by millions across the world and sell extremely well. But with a team such as Juventus completely missing, it will likely affect sales, especially in Italy.
In FIFA 20, Juventus will be known as ‘Piemonte Calcio’ with a custom badge and kits. This will be represented through all modes including Kick-off, Career mode, and new mode: Volta.
