After retrieving two Great Runes in Elden Ring, you will be pointed towards the Capital City of Leyndell to reach the Great Erdtree that stands tall over the Lands Between. To get to the City of Gold, you will need to pass through the Altus Plateau. There are a few different ways of getting to the Plateau, with the most straightforward one being to use the Lift of Dectus. To activate the Lift, you will need to find the Dectus Medallion, which has been broken in half and scattered across the Lands Between. This guide will explain where to find both halves of the Dectus Medallion in Elden Ring.

Where To Find Both Dectus Medallion Halves In Elden Ring
Both medallion halves can be found inside chests located within two specific forts: Fort Haight and Fort Faroth. Fort Haight is found within Mistwood and an area within Limgrave. Kenneth Haight will ask most players to take the fort back for a side quest. Once you get through the number of guards and a blood-tinged Godrick Knight, you will find the chest with the left half of the medallion.
Fort Faroth is found in the Dragonsborrow in Caelid. Its location is pictured below, with the player needing to get past several dragons to get to the fortress and then combat several bats, knights, and other enemies. Once inside, you will find a ladder that you can climb with the chest, with the medallion inside waiting at the top.
With both pieces, you can head to the Lift of Dectus, found in the area pictured below. Using the medallion will bring you to the Altus Plateau and the Capital Outskirts, bringing you one step closer to Leyndell and the Erdtree.
