Elena Revealed for Street Fighter 6 in New Gameplay Trailer & Yes, She Has Healing

Don’t worry, she’ll be fine this time around.

Capcom has finally revealed the final DLC character coming to Street Fighter 6 season 2 with a gameplay trailer, and, no surprise, it is the scary healing lady herself, Elena. Her design has changed quite a bit from prior games, but her gameplay is seemingly mostly intact, which should send shivers down most players’ spines.

The trailer also shows a new stage, called Reniala Remains, and it is one of the best ones yet. Her moves, although familiar, animate better than ever before, owing to the motion capture technology used by Capcom. Her special moves, which include Rhino Horn, Scratch Wheel, Lynx Song, among a few new additions, have a far more identifiable flair effect, which should make recognizing her moves a bit easier, something that was quite troublesome back in Street Fighter 4.

Her normals are just as confusing as before, and that kind of makes sense considering her fighting style, capoeira. A lot of those normal moves are pretty much the same as back in SF3 Third Strike, but the same can’t be said for her supers, which have changed quite a bit.

Her level 1, Meteor Volley, seems to be one of the few supers in the game that allows for follow-up combos, and her level 2, Revival Dance, is unlike any other in the game, with quite a bit more camera work than we’re used to. Not only is it completely invincible during start-up, but if you keep holding the button, it allows her to do her familiar healing technique that refills her life bar.

Finally, her level 3 is Song of the Grasslands, which is similar to most level 3s and sees her ground bouncing her opponents like a football. Elena’s jump is just as floaty, her classic costume is faithfully recreated, and fans of the character will have no problem picking her up again.

The Elena gameplay trailer shows the last character for season 2 of Street Fighter 6, following Mai Shiranui and Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, and the titular M. Bison. All that is left is to wait for the announcement of the four new characters coming to the game in season 3.
