Ellen DeGeneres’ fans are in for some disappointment as the comedian has canceled several shows of her current tour. The comedian kicked off her Ellen’s Last Stand … Up tour last month. However, just two weeks into the multi-city tour, fans received notifications that many of the upcoming events were canceled.
Ticketmaster notified fans that the show scheduled for Wednesday, July 10, in Dallas, Texas, had been canceled. The notification message read, “Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event,” stating no reason for the disruption. Fans who had already purchased tickets for the show were advised to do nothing, as a refund will be processed. Other canceled event stops include Ellen’s San Francisco show on July 21, the July Seattle date, and the August 11 Chicago stop.
As of this writing, DeGeneres has yet to issue a statement explaining why some shows were axed. However, her next scheduled performance at Denver on July 8 is still on. Maybe fans will receive an answer.
Ellen DeGeneres Declares ‘I Am Not Mean’ During Tour
Before the scrapped dates, Ellen last performed at Santa Rosa, California, on July 2. Since starting her supposed final tour, the former show host has poked fun at her banishment from Hollywood. Ellen was accused of fostering a toxic work environment on her famous talk show. During her set, the 66-year-old addressed the controversy with some humor. “Let me catch you up on what’s been going on with me since you last saw me. I got chickens,” she said, according to SFGate. “Oh yeah, and I got kicked out of show business for being mean.”
The 66-year-old explained that she never used to care what people said about her. However, that has changed since her popularity dwindled. “I am many things, but I am not mean,” Ellen explained.
