Elon Musk was made a laughing stock after his AI bot, Grok debunked his recent tweets amid big plans to fix the “Community Notes” feature. Aside from being the wealthiest man in the world, Musk prides himself on giving the world some of the most futuristic technologies via his lineup of tech companies. Despite having such an influence on the world with so many technological advancements at his disposal, fact-checking before making ideas public on social media isn’t exactly Musk’s strong point.
On Thursday, the tech mogul, known for his very active X presence shared a tweet questioning how the Community Notes feature on X was fact-checking Russian propaganda. Elon Musk announced that he was working to fix the bugs on Community Notes that currently allowed the feature to be “increasingly being gamed by government & legacy media,” via the tweet. The tweet quickly sparked debate on the platform, with most calling out the billionaire’s post as yet another misleading conspiracy theory running wild.
AI Bot Debunks Elon Musk’s Tweets
Tangle founder, Isaac Saul took things a step further, deciding to test the reliability of the majority of Elon Musk’s tweets, using his own AI bot, Grok. Saul, who launched his nonpartisan company in 2007, had the bot analyze the last 1000 posts on the Tesla founder’s X account, coming up with the most brutal result. Sharing screenshots of the bot’s results on X, he tweeted,
“I asked @grok to analyze the last 1,000 posts from Elon Musk for truth and veracity. More than half of what Elon posts on X is false or misleading, while most of the true posts are simply updates about his companies.”
The result of the analysis grouped Elon Musk’s tweets into three categories, scoring 48% true, 22% false, and 30% misleading. The AI bot Grok took pain to explain each of these categories of tweets by Elon Musk, highlighting the concerning number of false posts which was a “red flag” figure. The bot went on to slam the billionaire’s habit of “firing off hot takes or amplifying unverified stuff, especially on politics.”
Musk Slammed Over Misleading Tweets
Grok determined that Elon Musk was certainly not a primary source one could bank on without cross-checking, and Community Notes could only flag 10% of the false or misleading tweets. The AI bot highlighted how problematic it was that the mogul had a large number of followers, which could potentially amplify everything, whether true or not. Grok delivered its final blow on Musk with a string of brutal words, roasting the mogul for good saying,
“[Musk] is a big-picture thinker who sometimes skips the details—or doesn’t care about them. He’s not a journalist or a scientist; he’s a mogul with a megaphone. I’d say follow him for the ideas, not the facts. If something sounds off, dig into it yourself—plenty of his posts don’t survive a Google search.”

This brutal takedown by his own self-endorsed creation sparked wild reactions across social media. Many X users questioned the matrix Saul based his Grok analysis on, pointing out that as with any AI tool, the prompt was the major determinant of the kind of results one received. Some acknowledged that the Grok analysis was spot-on, proving the billionaire at least built “an AI that tells the truth” despite his shortcomings. Grok’s analysis of Elon Musk’s tweets has also stirred heated political exchanges online. One Reddit user fired,
“Even his Bot has more common sense than MAGA.”
Another shared,
“If only his disciples had the critical thinking skills of Grok.”
This isn’t the first time Elon Musk’s cherished AI Bot, Grok has roasted him. Back in November, the bot declared that the mogul had misled billions of people with his spread of misinformation on topics like politics and the US elections. This followed the prompt from X user Gary Koepnick asking if Musk had misled billions of people. The bot has also been known to call out the CEO’s treatment of his “human employees,” as well as warning Musk to desist from endorsing politically charged tweets that appeared to promote hate speech.
