King Charles’ brother Prince Andrew is reportedly too embarrassed to face the world, opting to hide behind the walls of his palatial Royal Lodge to avoid further humiliation. The Duke of York has been a constant source of negative headlines for the British royal family for years. His financial woes and connections to the likes of the late Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted pedophile and American financier, further tainted his reputation.
Despite reportedly being Queen Elizabeth II’s favorite son, the late queen was forced to strip him of his royal duties, military titles, the HRH title, and charity roles in January 2022 after he became engulfed in a lawsuit filed by Virginia Giuffre. Since the Queen’s death, the burden of dealing with the disgraced Prince Andrew’s affairs has fallen on his brother, King Charles. The British monarch has reportedly grown weary of his brother’s antics in recent times, especially regarding his spending habits.
King Charles Writes Off Brother Prince Andrew as Diminished After Royal Lodge Drama
Speaking to Fox News Digital, Royal expert Hilary Fordwich claimed King Charles finally resolved to keep his scandal-ridden brother on the sidelines. According to Hilary, the monarch remained focused on the crown and other senior working royals, writing off his younger brother as a diminished man. The royal expert claimed,
“The definite is that for Andrew, there is no return to being a major royal figure, nor even being part of the family ever. He is, deservedly so, a much-diminished man.”
King Charles’ decision to sideline his brother comes after his failed attempts to convince Prince Andrew to move away from his 30-bedroom Palatial Royal Lodge, into the much smaller Frogmore Cottage to cut costs. With the disgraced royal remaining rooted in the Royal Lodge which is in a state of “disrepair and decay,” the monarch seems ready to wash his hands off. Previous reports suggest King Charles instructed the Keeper of the Privy Purse to discontinue Prince Andrew’s $1.3 million annual allowance and stop paying for his security. This has further plunged the prince deeper into his despicable state.
Disgraced Prince Embarrassed By Present Situation
Hilary Fordwich revealed that Prince Andrew recognized his pathetic situation and was embarrassed by it. She added,
“The declining disrepair and decay… if his residence has become a spectacle, a visual reflection of the broader fallout from his despicable involvement with Jeffrey Epstein and further fall from royal favor.”
With little money at his disposal to maintain the Royal Lodge, the mansion remains in a deplorable state, offering just enough room to lay low. Several royal family members and his former golf partners “have distanced themselves from him,” Hilary claimed. These days, the embarrassed Prince Andrew busies himself with gardening and riding for some fresh air. However, it would take a while to fully step out into the public again, and reclaim his life as a beloved royal, if ever. This scandalous reputation has spilled onto his two children Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, stirring negative press their way.
Thankfully, the sisters got a breath of fresh air this week, with Princess Beatrice surprising the world with the early birth of her second baby, a daughter. Buckingham Palace shared the joyous news on social media on Wednesday, along with a photo of the newborn, Athena, curled in a pink blanket, taken by Beatice’s husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Royal fans, family members, and friends have since extended heartfelt messages celebrating the latest addition to the royal fold. Missing from the celebratory fest, though, at least publicly, is an embarrassed Prince Andrew, who remains tucked in his sprawling Royal Lodge, careful not to stir attention his way.
