House of the Gundead Is A Classic Arcade Shooter
Enter the Gungeon started as a rougelike, dungeon crawling where almost everything in the game was related to guns. However, House of the Gundead seems to take inspiration from other games, namely House of the Dead. Although some fans are still waiting for Enter the Gungeon to get a direct equal, others are excited for the nostalgic direction the series is taking.
Based on the new House of the Gundead gameplay trailer, players will control the Detective and Super Space Turtle as they explore the Gungeon. Featuring side-by-side co-op, players will need to use the arcade cabinets light-gun to aim and fire at on screen enemies. Arcade fans should already be familiar with this style of gameplay, though it seems to include some twists on the usual formula. Specifically, the game makes use of many Enter the Gungeon staples like the Beholster and Mine Flayer.
Enter the Gungeon’s Style Is Perfect For Arcades
The Enter the Gungeon art style works amazingly well in this gameplay trailer and feels right at home on the arcade screen. While the game seems to get very hectic with many moving objects on the screen, every asset is very distinct and allows players to easily navigate the chaos. The arcade cabinet itself looks clean and features some of Enter the Gungeon’s iconic bullet enemies. Though the series began as a console game, House of the Gundead proves that the series can work in many more mediums.
Arcade owners, or invested fans, can order Enter the Gungeon: House of the Gundead for $5,499 and will ship in 90 days. Currently no news for alternative releases are available so far. Despite this, many fans are hopeful that the game will receive ports to other systems in the future.
