Any time you hear about ICE in the news, it’s bound to be disgusting. Entire families are being ripped apart by this organization and there seems to be no end in sight. On top of that, they’re literally harassing entire apartment complexes full of people now. A TikToker reveals how a whole apartment complex in Illinois was raided by ICE in the early morning hours. And, of course, it didn’t end well for those inside.
TikTok user The Real Corn Pop explained that the South Shore Apartments in Chicago were suddenly searched by ICE. They forced every person in the apartment complex out of the building in the morning hours, weapons drawn. Women, elderly, and children were zip-tied while they investigated. He said people who were determined to not be immigrants were allowed to return to their apartments. The Real Corn Pop goes on to say, “They sieged an apartment complex full of American citizens with full military gear and disappeared people from this apartment complex.”
They did this while everybody was sleeping. He points out there are parallels here, such as the Nazis. A commenter even chimed in with an Anne Frank quote, “Terrible things are happening outside. At any time of the night and day, poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes.” History is repeating itself.
According to information from Block Club Chicago, the renters were concerned when they answered their doors and saw federal agents waiting outside. The armed agents burst their way in, waking up disoriented residents and handcuffing or zip-tying them. The people were then led into unmarked vans.
One citizen said he was “stuffed inside a van with his neighbors” for several hours until ICE cleared the building. Most of the residents in the complex were Venezuelan migrants, some of which were taken away by ICE agents. Their fates are unknown.
“They used a low income neighborhood to test out how they’re going to do this EVERYWHERE. We should all be afraid,” argued one commenter. Even the National Guard has a presence in the U.S. right now. “One lady there said one of the agents said, “F them kids” when she asked why they had them zip tied,” alleged one commenter. It’s hard to think otherwise at this point.
