Believe it or not, one situation that has been going on in the country lately is “refund fishing.” If you don’t know what this is, it’s basically someone asking for a service and then cancelling it, with the aim of getting a refund, and it seems an Uber driver was almost the victim of this. The aforementioned driver shared a clip of a passenger calling for an Uber, but didn’t disclose she had a dog. Once she entered the vehicle, the California driver cancelled the ride, but the entitled passenger locked herself in the backseat and refused to leave.
The lengthy video shows the confrontation between an Uber driver who accepted a ride from a passenger who didn’t mention she had a dog with her. As you know, Uber or Lyft often offer a service for people transporting their pets with them. However, you need to ask for this particular service, as not every vehicle allows dogs or cats inside.
In this scenario, the passenger never mentioned she had a dog with her, thus forcing the driver to cancel the ride, which she had the right to do. However, the California passenger and dog owner didn’t take it well and locked herself in and refused to leave.
To make matters worse, she contacted customer service while inside the vehicle, and here’s when the driver lost her composure, as she had already canceled the ride, yet the passenger refused to leave the car.
The real infuriating part is how the passenger acts as if she’s the victim here, telling the customer service representative how the driver is being “beligerent.” Naturally, this continues to anger the driver, who just keeps yelling, “Please get out of my car.” The ironic part is that the passenger eventually says she doesn’t feel safe inside the vehicle, but we need to remind you all that she’s the one who locked herself in.
The video continues until the point that the passenger motions her dog to sit on her lap before demanding her refund. You can clearly see how angry the driver is at the situation, especially since the driver could have done the “reporting” outside, and not inside the vehicle, where she supposedly felt unsafe.
As you can imagine, no one sided with the passenger, claiming she was being annoying, entitled, and passive-aggressive toward the driver, without mentioning the clear attempt to do “refund fishing.”
“I would drive to the nearest police station.” – EcstaticNet via Reddit.
“Why is the dispatcher entertaining this and not just telling this chick to get out of the car? There’s nothing to be reasoned with, just get out.” – Ro536ud via Reddit.
In the end, we feel bad for the Uber driver. She was just trying to do her job but ended up having to deal with a very entitled passenger, as well as a customer complaint to boot.
