Sometimes, when you have to go, you have to go, but that doesn’t mean you can just barge into an occupied bathroom where someone’s already doing their business. That said, one Ohio Karen was so impatient that she popped the lock of a public restroom inside a grocery store when she knew there was someone inside. It started with just some light knocking, and the woman in the bathroom told them to wait “just a minute.” But for the Karen, that was one minute too long.
The knocking didn’t stop, but the woman ignored it as she did her business. She already let the person outside know the locked restroom was occupied, after all, as if discovering that a bathroom door was locked wasn’t obvious enough. Finally, when the woman was done, she began washing her hands. That was when she suddenly heard the door lock pop, before the Karen opened the door to march in. “You can’t do that,” the restroom user said before the intruder quickly shut the now unlocked door.
The woman finished up and walked out to confront the Karen, “You know you can’t just unlock a restroom door when someone’s in there, right?” Without a word, the Karen strutted past into the bathroom and closed the door. “The sense of entitlement and violation of my privacy had me heated,” the woman exclaimed, posting a photo of the bathroom door and her story on r/mildlyinfuriating. The Karen did have a child with her, but that doesn’t warrant bursting into a locked public bathroom that’s occupied.
“I wanna know what her plan was if you were still going,” joked the top comment in her post. And while the replies are a bit unruly, the question is really valid: What was that Karen mother thinking? “I think she’s just an entitled b*tch 🤷♀️,” OP remarked, annoyed at the thought of the inconsiderate restroom intruder. “Wrong on so many levels, this is more than mildly infuriating lol,” one Redditor said. “Even assuming she didn’t hear you, who the f*ck pops the lock on a public restroom?” added another.
OP claims that there were other bathrooms available, so it’s bizarre the Karen didn’t think to use the others. “This is completely unacceptable social behavior and potentially a crime,” chimed in a user. Because the bathroom door had a pushlock, it was very likely that the mother used something small to push into the pinhole on the opposite side. Probably not an ethical thing to teach the young child she was with.
