When providing your services to a household, the expected thing is to get paid after you finish your job. Unfortunately, there are cases when people meet entitled individuals who refuse to pay. One of these situations occurred in South Carolina, where a pressure washing company cleaned a Karen’s driveway and house, but she refused to pay them, arguing that there was an issue with the gutters. Fortunately, everything finds its way to the internet, and now this lady has been exposed, so everyone knows what kind of person she truly is.
The events occurred in a neighborhood in South Carolina, where a Karen hired a whole pressure washing crew to clean her house and her driveway. Once the crew finished its job, the lady refused to pay them. According to the context the OP provided, it was due to the woman claiming there was an issue with the gutters. So, instead of giving them their rightful pay, she decided to take pictures of everyone’s license plates and ignore them.
In the video, posted by TheManager_1, you can see the lady walking outside her house and taking pictures. In the background, you can hear the crew yelling at her, saying that they will become homeless because they need that money for rent. The crew also mentions they were there for at least six hours cleaning everything, and the lady, despite them finishing, refused to give them a dime.
The Karen continues to ignore them as they continue yelling at her and calling her a “b*tch,” saying that if they lose their home, it’s going to be on her.
While we can agree that the behaviour of this woman is terrible, the pressure washing crew should’ve asked for at least half of the payment in advance before starting work. Nowadays, many people attempt to deceive others into working for them, only to avoid paying, claiming they did something wrong, or worse, asking for a refund after they finish the job.
Many Redditors, however, backed the crew up and gave them some tips on how to get back at the Karen.
“I would be putting the dirt back straight away.” One user commented.
“I’d be coming back at night with a 5-gallon bucket of most horrendously colored paint.” Another user said.
While the above options aren’t the best or the most legal ones, someone should do something to prevent these Karens from exploiting others. On the other hand, and being the devil’s advocate for a bit, the crew should’ve asked for some of the money up front before working.
