Some people really shouldn’t be driving. Aside from those who are drinking and driving, there are also people who just suck at driving in general. One incident in Atlanta, Georgia, involved a man wrecking his own car after an encounter with a big truck. Allegedly, the Georgia man was trying to get past a large truck by slipping past it on the right side. This is a no-no, since that means trying to squeeze between the truck and the edge of the road.
Well, it didn’t work out for him. His car hit the edge of the truck, damaging his side view mirror, and his vehicle got stuck. The truck belonged to Grab and Go Movers, a moving company. The truck driver was so flabbergasted by the man’s decision that he began recording the aftermath. The Georgia man was still sitting inside his car, clearly in shock. The truck driver stood outside, berating him and asking what he was thinking to make such a reckless move.
The truck driver explained to the camera that the Georgia man tried to pass while the road was curving. Perhaps he thought there was enough space, so he attempted to slip past the truck on the right side. The truck driver then zoomed in on the Georgia man, who was on his phone contacting Geico, which appeared to be his insurance company. The truck driver continued to rant, clearly upset that his truck had been hit from behind and that the incident had ruined his day.
The internet found the incident quite amusing. Since nobody was hurt, the whole thing was more like a very expensive lesson, teaching people not to be impatient on the road or make reckless mistakes.“How you didn’t see a big truck? When you’re on your phone, you don’t tend to see much of anything around you, if I had to assume… drives me insane that people still think being on their phone behind the wheel is a good idea,” one user wrote.
Some users pointed out how the Georgia man was shaking while contacting his insurance. “Shaking in his boots 😂” one user commented. Others criticized the truck driver for berating the man, saying it was unnecessary. “Come on… enough with the theatrics and call the cops, your boss, etc. This one has me twisted because, yeah, the dude in the car is clearly at fault. He was probably texting and not paying attention or whatever; he shouldn’t have hit the truck. That was a stupid move. But what do you think is going to change by screaming at him? The guy in the car is literally shaking while pulling up his insurance information. Just get in the truck and call the cops,” one Redditor wrote.
