The Etrian Odyssey series is making a triumphant return with a new collection coming to the Nintendo Switch and PC. This beloved series developed by Atlus has not received a mainline game in over 4 years. Now, players can return to the first three games of the series in the Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection with updated graphics, gameplay, and many quality-of-life improvements that many fans of the series are excited for.
This Collection Brings Back The Beginnings Of A Beloved Series
The Etrian Odyssey series is developed by Atlus, who are also responsible for games like the Persona series and owned by Sega. The game is a dungeon-crawling RPG that tasks players with running a guild and exploring maze-like dungeons. Players will be able to level up their party and fight and keep track of and explore these huge labyrinths.
Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection Updates The Games To The Modern Era
In Sega and Atlus’ new Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection gameplay trailer, Atlus shows off some of the dungeon-crawling gameplay fans have grown to love. Each of the three games will all be in HD for the first time since their release. So far, the game seems to work very well with the updated graphics, though it’s hard to tell without a hands-on version of the game.
On top of this, the Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection gameplay trailer also shows off the game’s mapping feature. The collection has also introduced an auto-mapping feature to these games for the first time, which helps players with some of the more tedious parts of exploration. Finally, some players in the comments have noted that the skill tree system from later games is present in the updated collection.
Players can purchase Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection on June 1st, 2023. The game will be available on Steam and Nintendo Switch. Players can also pre-order now for additional character portraits from other Atlus games.
