Longoria on How Tv Equipped Her to Direct Flamin’ Hot
The Over Her Dead Body actress shared how her years on TV prepared her for directing Flamin’ Hot. Twenty years ago, after she got her breakout role in Desperate Housewives, she started paying attention to how things work behind the scenes. The 48-year-old revealed this during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter at Friday’s movie premiere.
Before directing Flamin’ Hot, Longoria directed TV episodes for shows such as Black-ish, Jane the Virgin, and Gordita Chronicles. This is proof that her years of TV experience are paying off.
The Lowriders star revealed that she used her time on Desperate Housewives to learn the craft of directing. “I used Desperate Housewives as my film school, and that’s where I learned everything; we had so many directors and so many episodes,” Longoria said, adding that she paid attention for ten years while on set.

The movie’s premiere was on Friday and served as a small reunion for the Desperate Housewives co-stars. He had a recurring unique guest role until season six of the show. He played a love interest for Longoria’s character.
Longoria’s directorial debut tells the story of Richard Montanez, a Frito Lay Janitor who said he came up with the idea of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. During the event, Jesse Garcia, who played the character of Montanez, praised the director for being specific about the story she wanted to tell and for being passionate about spreading Richard’s story.
