California Rep. Ro Khanna is calling for a sweeping congressional investigation into individuals who contacted Jeffrey Epstein about visiting his private island, arguing that the American public deserves full transparency and accountability for crimes connected to the disgraced financier.

While speaking on the House floor on Wednesday, Khanna referenced the newly released trove of Epstein-related records, which he said have “shocked the conscience of the nation” and further exposed long-standing concerns about how powerful individuals avoid accountability. “Today, I call for Congress to haul in front of the Oversight Committee every single person who emailed about going to Epstein’s island,” Khanna said. “They need to answer some basic questions.”

Khanna argued that interrogating these individuals could help provide answers to who committed the alleged sexual crimes against the victims, which included underage girls. “What did they see?” he asked,“What did they know? What did they participate in?” The Democrat also framed the issue as part of a broader frustration among Americans who believe wealth and influence have created a double standard within the justice system.

“There cannot be two tiers of justice in America,” he said. “I will not rest until the people who committed these heinous crimes and this heinous behavior are held accountable.”

Public Reaction to Khanna’s Remarks

On X, where a clip of his statement calling for Congress to “haul in every person who emailed Epstein about visiting his island” was posted, many viewers praised him for pushing to obtain justice for the victims.

“This is another real American hero!” one person wrote. Another commenter said, “Thank you, sir! Get every one of them!” A third added, “As a Republican, I would have to say Ro Khanna is my favorite Democrat! Thank you!” A fourth chimed in, “May God shield and protect you as well as all those who are actively pursuing justice for the Epstein victims.”

However, some viewers were skeptical that meaningful action would follow. Several questioned whether Congress would truly move forward after years of delays and redactions. “You won’t rest until they’re held accountable? You’ve been in Congress for years and the files are still redacted,” one person commented. Another asked, “Are you [actually] going to follow through this time? Or all talk and no action?”
