A new report claims that families in Georgia will spend an average of $2,400 more per year because of U.S. President Donald Trump’s policies. These reports caused Georgia residents to criticize the Trump administration, accusing America’s top politician of making their lives harder.

According to a press release from Georgia U.S. Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock, a new report by the Joint Economic Committee sheds light on the rising cost of living under the Trump administration. Over the course of a year, the report estimates that the cost of living, including essential household expenses, has increased by an average of $2,400 per family, or about $200 per month.

The report estimates that Georgians are paying an average of “$532 more for housing costs, including rent and mortgage payments; $310 more for groceries; $350 more for gas; and $120 more for electricity.”

Georgia Voters Complain About Inflation Under Trump

The report’s findings distressed many Georgia residents on social media, several of whom said they were struggling with the rising cost of living. One user criticized the Republican Party, claiming that “Republicans don’t have a coherent policy position. Every day republicans wake up to look at what Trump dropped in his diaper the previous night and that is their policy of the day.”

Many shared stories about Republican voters who were affected by rising costs but continued to support the party. One person wrote: “My folks voted for trump because ‘everything is just so darn expensive’.” However, I don’t know what their excuse was the first two times.”

Another added: “I work at an import company that relies on importing a large amount of relatively cheap goods. We are in a death spiral because of Trump’s policies, but the owner is a trumper so everything is going by according to him.”

The discussion led many residents to criticize the Trump administration, while some reached a bleak conclusion about whether the situation would change. As one user put it: “It’s sad to say, but MAGA adherents live in a different reality.”

It remains to be seen whether the prices of essential goods and services will continue to rise in Florida, but renewed tensions between the United States and Iran could put additional upward pressure on energy prices.
