Some Lightbearers already had the chance to experience Destiny: Rising in its Closed Alpha, but now, the Closed Beta is coming, meaning more players might be lucky enough to join this test. But contrary to the Closed Alpha, the Beta will feature a lot of playable content for players to try. Since there’s a lot to go over, we’ve rounded up every piece of information in one comfortable guide so you can check how to register for it and what awaits you and other Lightbearers.
How To Join the Destiny: Rising Closed Beta
Before pre-registering for the Destiny: Rising Closed Beta, let’s talk about the release date. The test will begin on May 29, 2025, through the Google Play platform. With that in mind, start creating a Google Play account in case you don’t have one. Once that’s done, head to the game’s official site (link here) and follow the pre-registration steps (you can find the button at the top right corner). To register, you’ll need to provide the following information:
- Pick between iOS and Android, depending on your phone’s OS.
- Specify your phone’s model.
- Select your region.
- Enter the email account you use for Google Play.
- Read and accept the Privacy Policy.
Once you do that, you’ll be on your way to, hopefully, receive access to the Closed Beta.
Will There Be Regional Restrictions for the Closed Beta?
Sadly, yes. Lightbearers will only get to join the test if they reside in the US or Canada. If you’re outside of those regions, chances are you won’t be able to play the game right now. Then again, it is a test to help the developers, and the full game will be available to a much broader audience.
Will Progress Carry Over to the Full Game?
No. Everything you do during the beta will remain in the beta. Still, it is a good way to familiarize yourself with the Lighbearers, the new weapons and skills, and the gameplay loop coming to this mobile adventure.
Is There an NDA for the Test?
According to the site, everyone who joined the Closed Beta of Destiny: Rising can record, stream, and take pictures of everything in the game. That means you can share everything you do in it without any restrictions.
All Content Coming to the Closed Beta Test

With the registration part out of the way, let’s take a look at what you can expect from this test. Those who were in the Closed Alpha might be familiar with a few systems, but there are many improvements and new additions coming to the beta, such as:
- New Destination: Red Sea Rift
- New Campaign
- Set in the aforementioned new area. You’ll join as Radegast’s envoy and meet characters such as Lord Saladin and Union President Harrow.
- Two New Lightbearers
- Xuan Wei: A tank-like character able to break through enemy lines with sheer strength.
- Umeko: A stealth-focused Lightbearer with support abilities and DPS moves.
- Red Sea Exploration: The new zone holds many hidden areas, puzzles, and branching patrol zones.
- Master Challenge: Master difficulty will become available for selected activities.
- Social Activities: Impromptu soccer matches, “Go Ghost Go,” and an early version of the fishing system.
- Wolf Den Enhancements: New Clan Challenges.
- New Weapons:
- Dual-wielding sidearms.
- Fusion Rifles.
- Two new exotics exclusive to Destiny: Rising.
- “Furies III,” Exotic Solar Pulse Rifle.
- “Concerto,” Exotic Power Sidearm.
There’s still some time before the Closed Beta test for Destiny: Rising begins, so if you haven’t, now’s the perfect time to pre-register. Also, remember to check the system requirements to see if your mobile device will be able to run this game once it launches.
