Dino hunters looking forward to Capcom’s upcoming dinosaur slaying game got a small preview of Exoprimal last month. The game’s release is planned for this summer on PC and consoles. However, new details have emerged on the Exoprimal official website, giving us a more comprehensive look at what content the game will offer at launch.
Exoprimal will feature story-driven missions, including missions without combat and cutscenes that will provide players with a deeper understanding of the game’s world, characters, and narrative. Additionally, there will be 10 co-op missions for up to 10 players and equipment called Modus, allowing for greater customization of Exosuits.
As a live service game, Exoprimal will continue to receive new content after launch. Capcom has confirmed that players can expect to see new Exosuit variants that cater to different playstyles, such as the Deadeye suit with a burst-fire rifle that can also be used as a shotgun. Collaboration with other Capcom titles is also on the way, as seen in the recently released Monster Hunter Rise. So maybe one day we will see Leon from Resident Evil 4 Remake suplexing some dinosaurs? Probably not.
Exoprimal Launch Content Detailed: Post-Release Capcom Content
During the open beta, the lack of mission variety was one of the noticeable drawbacks. While the gameplay itself was pretty snappy, thanks to the RE Engine, the game’s success will ultimately hinge upon how interesting the post-launch content is. Capcom must provide unique features to stand out from other live service titles. But considering how well Capcom has handled Monster Hunter, the game is probably in good hands.
In the Exoprimal open beta, only a single mode called Dino Survival was available. This PvE mode had a bit of PvP thrown in, pitting teams of five players against each other to complete different missions before their opponents did. These missions ranged from dinosaur slaying to defending objectives.
Exoprimal is set to release on July 13th for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One. Xbox Game Pass subscribers can access the game on the day of release.
