Fable Legends was the next entry in the popular fantasy franchise. It was a very different kind of game from the previous entries in the series. Four players would control the games heroes and wage war against a fifth player who would control the villain. This player would be responsible for placing traps, enemies, and generally trying to trip up the steadfast heroes. The four heroes, meanwhile, would have to use their unique abilities to take out enemies and thwart the plans of the villain. The game was supposed to release on Xbox One and PC in 2015 but was delayed for unknown reasons.

The game was not received well when it was revealed in 2013. It marked a drastic departure for the series that did not sit well with fans. The game retained the series cheerful style and larger than life characters, but for a series that was largely built on the choices, players could make, stripping away these choices made for a very different game.

Fable Legends was a new take on asymmetrical multiplayer.

The game is now cancelled completely and Lionhead Studios, the team behind the entire Fable Franchise, will shortly close its doors.

Press Play Studios, the folks behind Max: The Curse of Brotherhood, is also being closed and all of their ongoing projects have been cancelled.

Microsoft has made a statement about these closures on its site, which you can read here.
