In a recent episode of the Pod Save America podcast published Saturday morning, California’s governor, Gavin Newsom spoke out about his thoughts on Donald Trump‘s plans for disaster aid during the wildfires currently raging in the Los Angeles area, and some of his followers are pretty displeased with what he’s had to say about it.
Newsom details on the podcast episode that he believes Trump will hold back on disaster aid for California. His plan, according to Newsom, is “made up. It’s delusional… And it’s reinforced over and over and over within the right wing.” Whether or not he’s onto anything, several X users have chimed in under the post that Pod Save America posted on the episode.
Right away, comments started rolling in talking about how “The only “disinfo campaign” here in Newsom’s, Bass’s, and Pod Save America’s.” Similarly, trump fans have flooded the comments, speaking on how “Newsom should resign” and “Gavin Newsom is a failure.” Others have chimed in with “Governor blame” and “gaslight,” but it seems a few have seen the bigger picture here.
While the wildfires are making their way through the Los Angeles and surrounding areas, there’s a lot going on and loads of things that can be done to help those in need and suffering. Rather than being out with his people and doing everything he can, Newsom’s speaking on a podcast, which sparked a rather obvious comment from a user on X. “I don’t even know why this bozo is taking the time to do a podcast when the wildfires still rage on…. Shouldn’t he have other priorities other than trying to deflect blame…?“
Others, still, are realizing that there’s something off about what Newsom’s claiming. “At least he’s lying right to your face, so I guess that’s a win,” said one, while another dropped in to speak on what Newsom’s done in the past 7 years. “He told you in 2018 how to manage those forests and to direct rainwater and snow melt into reservoirs. You did nothing. You were supposed to build 4 new reservoirs per law. You did nothing. You saved the smelt fish, was that worth the burning down of LA with 11 dead? You dismantled 4 dams to get more fish to people. You twist everything and take zero blame. This is ALL ON YOU.”
