In case you weren’t aware, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is kind of a big deal. The battle royale / Takeshi’s Castle hybrid has gone down amazingly well with fans since its release earlier this month. In fact, Fall Guys managed to sell 2 million copies in its first week on Steam. Add to that the countless downloads on PS Plus and you’ve got yourselves a pretty big player base.

If you’ve played Fall Guys since launch, you’ll be aware that this has made for some unstable servers, lag and connection issues. Mostly though, the game is fun. Angry, frustrating, sweary fun.

As well as an active community, Fall Guys also has a very active Twitter account. It was recently revealed that the search was on for the best player out there.

As you can see, it was avid Fall Guys streamer, DrLupo. The search was on after developer Mediatonic put out a tweet yesterday saying they had deposited a costume skin into the account of the best player, although they didn’t know who that was.

The skin is part of a selection of Portal skins that will be released at the weekend for us mere mortals. They can be yours soon, in exchange for money of course.

It hasn’t taken fans long to accuse Fall Guys of favoring a player who generates a lot of publicity for them, as statistically, there are players with more wins than DrLupo. Even if that is the case, I don’t really care, as the game is great and, right now, I have a lot of goodwill towards it.

If you have found yourself under a rock this month be sure to check out our Fall Guys review for details on the game. We called it a game that everyone can find something to fall in love with. Words that couldn’t be truer.

Let us know if you plan to buy the new Portal themed costumes, and be sure to let us know your thoughts on Fall Guys in the comments.
