We’ve been all over the place with Season 1 of Fall Guys. There’s been pain, joy, and more as we chased those elusive golden crowns. When it initially came out, we loved what we played, but now it’s time to bid adieu to Season 1 as we welcome the next chapter in bean-man silliness. We got our first look at Fall Guys Season 2 back at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, and we got a small look at the season’s medieval theme. We’ll get dragon, wizard, and knight costumes, just to name a few. There’ll be new modes themed around castles and sieges. And now, we finally know when we’ll get to experience it. In just under a week’s time, on October 8, Fall Guys Season 2 will drop for PC and PS4 players.

BEAN SPILLING POST

Announcing dates always feels like you're cursing things, but it's Halloween month, so let's get cursed!

🔥 Season 2 launches on Thursday 8th October 🔥

Season 1 will now end as Season 2 begins and we're going to DOUBLE fame points during this time! 👀 pic.twitter.com/J9TFIZ1BDd

An added bonus for Fall Guys Season 2 players is the ability to customize player nameplates, a la many of the Call of Duty games since the last generation. Don’t expect any Black Ops-style emblem customization though. Thankfully, we’ve been spared from the… creativity that part of the internet has. This will allow PC players to stand out a bit more than just the (already fantastic) selection of costumes. Before now, they only were identified by the same name and then a unique number string (eg. Fall Guy 4671). This feature will apply to PS4 players too, who already could use their PSN ID as identifiers (strange how the same didn’t happen for Steam nicknames).

Those costumes aren’t cheap, however. While many of the common items can be bought with Kudos or crowns, some of the rarer items cost multiple crowns to unlock, crowns that are predominantly earned from winning games, which of course, is no mean feat – just ask TimTheTatMan. Crowns were also able to be unlocked in Fall Guys Season 1‘s battle pass, but now Mediatonic is going to be much more generous in Season 2. According to the @FallGuysGame Twitter account – which can tend to… over-exaggerate a little bit sometimes, over 600% more crowns will be added to Season 2’s seasonal rewards.

See you on October 8. I’ll just be… practicing. Yeah, that.

When I'm not researching games to potentially add to an ever-growing backlog of games I've never finished, I'm scouting the next wonderkid on Football Manager, or adding my 180th hour to my Persona 5 completionist run. Likes games, and likes talking about them. Surprise, right?
