Asheville, North Carolina, was recently devastated by Hurricane Helene in a way that homeowners needed to evacuate the area thoroughly. Now that things are settling down more, those homeowners are returning to their flooded homes to assess the damage. However, one homeowner was met with the surprise of a lifetime after opening the front door to the house: a giant alligator sitting in their living room.
TikTok user Dimemao, also known as Mao, showed her and her partner walking through the front door of a home as trapped water from the inside began pouring out. Due to the lack of electricity, Mao used the light on her cell phone to illuminate the home’s entrance. That is until she turned her camera and caught the glint of the alligator’s eyes and teeth. One commentator best explains what the couple in the video should have done,
The gator doesn’t move as the couple assesses the water damage in other areas of the room without walking inside. In fact, it almost looks as though it was surprised that someone else walked into his home.
The husband in the video doesn’t seem too alarmed by the large alligator, seemingly commenting on the water inside immediately after discovering the beast. I’d like to think that everyone in the comments were far more terrified than the people who were actually there.
Hopefully, the homeowners could get inside and have the alligator removed. I’d like to think they didn’t plan on letting it stay there.
