After many weeks of getting to know all the future Vault Hunters of Borderlands 4, Harlowe has finally debuted with her character short, and it is one of the best. We get to see her using her gravity tech, a sequence resembling a more chaotic form of podracing, family issues, and even a nod to Borderlands 3. While this marks the end of character showcases, at least for now, it also shows that all these characters are ready to jump into this new looter-shooter adventure, which is just right around the corner.
Harlowe’s Character Short Showcases Her Relationship With the Traunt Family
While we already knew Harlowe was related to the Traunt Family, we got a better glimpse at their relationship and how it might play a role in Borderlands 4. In the latest character short, we can observe Harlowe pulling off a heist of sorts while riding a vehicle that gave everyone a few podracing flashbacks. She also shows off some of her gravity skills, which we already know will be part of her kit in the game. However, the kicker comes right at the end, when we see a Traunt member arrive. And no, it isn’t Daniel because, well, we beat him in Borderlands 3. In any case, we learn more about the Traunt family dynamic, which is as hilarious as you can expect.
Furthermore, and in case you missed it, Borderlands 4 also premiered Harlowe’s gameplay showcase last week, making her look like the tinkerer of destruction many of us will want to pick for our first playthrough. Harlowe seems to excel at crowd control and also at inflicting Cryo damage to other foes. She even has some skills that will buff allies, making her a must-have in co-op playthroughs. If you’d like a better look at her abilities, you can head to her Vault Hunter’s info page to learn more about the destructive kit she will bring to the fray.
In truth, we will all miss these character shorts and gameplay showcases, but the silver lining is that the wait won’t be long now. We can count the days until Borderlands 4 launches, and from what we’ve seen, it is going to be the most ambitious entry in the series, and one we can’t wait to experience fully in a couple of weeks.
