The actor posted a picture of his little one wearing sunglasses and swaddled in a light blanket, and in the caption, he shared more about his infant, including his name and birth date. But fans are not happy with what the couple chose to call their son, and they have been freaking out.
In the caption of Criss’ Instagram post, he wrote, “M & D just delivered their follow-up single. Brother László Criss. 6/3/24. Out now. … and yes, his first name is Brother.” He ended the post with a yellow heart. While the couple likely expected messages of congratulations and support from fans, this was not the case. Instead, people cannot believe that they named their child Brother.
Fans React To Darren Criss’s Unusual Name Choice For His Kid
The comment section of the post has been filled with messages from fans who feel Brother is not an appropriate choice for a child. “You named your kid Brother?” one fan wrote. Another fan shared similar thoughts, writing, “Sorry, but I am gonna judge a stranger’s baby on the internet. Brother?”
Instagram users have also brought up concerns for the future. “The future girlfriend/boyfriend is gonna be calling him brother,” a comment reads. “Darren… I adore you… But you just doomed your kid to mockery for the rest of his life,” another comment reads. Other comments on the post include, “Some people need to remember (or outright realize) their babies are actual human beings they are choosing to name,” and “darren my love, my world, my pookie bookie bear… you did not just name your child BROTHER.”
Celebrities often name their children unusual names (just think of Blue Ivy, Stormi, Apple, and Ace Knute, to name but a few) but Darren Criss’ fans are still not impressed.
