Comedian Katt Williams’ recent bombshell interview on the Club Shay Shay podcast has sent shockwaves through fans and the media alike. With surprising revelations, controversial statements, and candid anecdotes, it is no wonder fans went wild after the bombshell interview. During the wide-ranging conversation, the 52-year-old held nothing back. Katt Williams’ revelations included shocking claims about fellow comedians Cedric the Entertainer, Steve Harvey, and Rickey Smiley.
Inside Katt Williams’ Bombshell Interview
On Wednesday, the latest episode of the Club Shay Shay podcast was published, and left fans buzzing on social media. During the chat, which lasted for nearly three hours, Williams took shots at some of the biggest names in show business — Harvey, Cedric, and Smiley — whom he described as a gang.
“All of these dudes are co-entwined and they share secrets, and this is the age of truth,” he said.
Williams continued by accusing Cedric of stealing one of his best jokes from his comedy set in the late ’90s. Recalling what happened, the actor said:
“1998, I’m doing this joke. It’s on ComicView. Cedric comes to The Comedy Store. He watches me in the audience. He comes backstage. He tells me what a great job I did and how much he loves the joke.”
However, Williams noted that two years later, Cedric made the same joke verbatim on The (Original) Kings of Comedy. According to the star, the only difference was that Cedric changed the car in the joke to a spaceship.
Elsewhere in Katt Williams’ interview, he also alleged that Harvey ripped off Mark Curry’s sitcom. Williams claimed that the premise of The Steve Harvey Show, where Harvey starred as a high school music teacher in 1996, was lifted from Curry’s sitcom Hangin’ With Mr Cooper. Recall that the show debuted in 1992, and Curry appeared as teacher Mark Cooper.
“The same Steve that went to go watch Mark Curry do his whole sitcom and then stole everything Mark Curry had. Now Steve got a sitcom where he’s the principal and he wears a suit,” he noted.
Williams didn’t leave Smiley out as he denied that the actor never got the role of Money Mike in Friday After Next.
Recall that Smiley featured as Santa Claus in the movie but previously claimed he originally had Williams’ Money Mike role. Williams told host Shannon Sharpe that it was all a lie.
“I was audition No. 201. Two-hundred Black comedians auditioned for the role of Money Mike with me. You’re saying all 201 of us was auditioning, and you had already had the role and had already shot the role in four days?” Williams said.
He then revealed what transpired. Williams had a clause placed in his contract that he would only work with Smiley in the future if the latter wore a dress in his roles.
Fans Share Their Thoughts On the Katt Williams’ Interview

“After several breaks to respond to phone calls and work emails, I have finally finished that Katt Williams interview. I’m one of the 10 Black people in America who wasn’t hit.”
A third tweep mentioned that Williams’ interview and Jeffery Epstein’s list dropping on the same day proved the universe bent towards being a “messy b***h” that lived for drama. Other fans found some parts of the interview hilarious.
“Katt Williams saying someone had a light-skinned ugly face wife and it could apply to 7 people got me HOLLERING.”
Another fan shared a picture of Harvey with full hair from The Steve Harvey Show and captioned it:
“So this was a weave this whole time??”
Meanwhile, Cedric has responded to Williams’ revelation. However, Harvey and Smiley are yet to respond.
