JoJo Siwa wants three kids, but the former Nickelodeon star plans to start a family most unconventionally. On July 15, the 21-year-old sat chatted with Cosmopolitan about her ideas for motherhood. While participating in the outlet’s If I Were You YouTube series, JoJo Siwa said she wanted three surrogates to give birth to her kids. Turns out the pop icon, who identifies as gay, had to make pregnancy plans much differently than a straight person.
“Because I’m gay as s**t and I have to plan a pregnancy much different than a straight person, I actually want to take three eggs, fertilize three eggs, and have three surrogates,” she explained.
According to Siwa, this meant the kids would be in the same batch. However, they would be born separately. In addition, the singer revealed the kids would be like triplets but would have their birthdays on different days. “I’m gonna have my surrogates, my babies, then maybe their birthdays will land on different days, and they can be like triplets, but like, not,” Siwa said. Not long after the clip hit YouTube, it sparked a wave of reactions. Sadly, fans didn’t like JoJo Siwa’s idea of having three surrogates and took to the comments section to slam her. One fan particularly described the plan as highly irresponsible.
“Surrogacy already has a high chance of multiples, so three surrogates is extremely irresponsible…I hope she’s joking because she doesn’t sound very informed,” the fan shared.
Another person commented, “Okay now I get why people are against surrogacy.” A third fan with similar opinions added, “Freddie Eddie and Teddie in different surrogates at the same time is out of control.”
Before now, The Dance Moms alum was quite vocal about her desire to be a mom. In March 2024, she told E! News that she had already picked out a sperm donor and her kids’ names — Freddie, Eddie, and Teddie. “I got my three kids’ names picked out. Got a sperm donor lined up and all! We’re ready! Just gotta be patient,” she revealed. A few months after the interview, JoJo Siwa said she still wanted those names for her kids. During her chat with Cosmopolitan, JoJo Siwa said she discussed her kids’ names early with her partners. According to her, refusing to accept the names would lead to a breakup. JoJo Siwa seems to have her kid-bearing and naming plans nailed down and won’t be changing her mind despite some fans’ displeasure.
