Taylor Swift‘s concert hiatus is nearly over. After two months away from the stage, the singer will resume her Eras Tour in France on May 9. Swift has given fans a glimpse of what they can expect from her latest shows by sharing a behind-the-scenes video of her tour rehearsals on YouTube. After watching it, fans noticed a few interesting details that may hint her setlist is getting overhauled now that her new album is out.
Is Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Setlist Getting A Major Update?
On Friday, April 19, Swift dropped her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department. It’s a two-part record that features 31 tracks. Since Swift has so much new material out, fans have been wondering whether she’ll add any of them to her Eras Tour setlist. It would make sense since her tour is meant to reflect her entire discography.
After speculating about her setlist all week, fans may have gotten an answer with the release of Swift’s latest YouTube video, which shows the singer practicing for her upcoming shows in Paris, France. Interestingly, the footage is soundtracked to “Fortnight,” the lead single off The Tortured Poets Department. The clip is also entirely in black and white, which matches the aesthetic of Swift’s latest album.
Fans are crossing their fingers that this means she’ll be incorporating her new record into her Eras Tour setlist. Unfortunately, they won’t find out for another two weeks. The “Cruel Summer” singer will kick off the next leg of her Eras Tour on Thursday, May 9. She’ll return to the stage with a bang by performing four back-to-back concerts in Paris, France. Afterward, she’ll continue to tour around the world over the next few months before finishing her trek in Vancouver in December.
Here’s hoping she debuts The Tortured Poets Department live soon!
