Fans have put on their investigative hats after Keke Palmer recalled a distasteful experience on the set of Scream Queens. In the slasher series, Palmer, who played Zayday Williams, starred alongside Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Skyler Samuels, and Abigail Breslin. However, what could have been a sisterhood between the co-stars couldn’t happen because of racism.
Palmer, in her upcoming memoir, Master of Me: The Secret to Controlling Your Narrative, spilled the tea. Per an excerpt of the book obtained by the LA Times, she revealed that a white castmate was racist. Palmer claimed that she intervened when the colleague, whom she gave the pseudonym “Brenda,” got into an argument with another co-star. When she suggested that they “respect each other,” Brenda allegedly made a racially-charged remark in response, telling Palmer:
“Keke, literally, just don’t. Who do you think you are? Martin fucking Luther King?”
Speaking to the publication about the incident, the Nope actress explained why she never named the co-star responsible. “It was such a weighted thing that she said, but I didn’t allow that weight to be projected on me because I know who I am. I’m not no victim,” she shared. “That’s not my storyline, sweetie. I don’t care what her ass said. If I allow what she said to cripple me, then she would.”
Fans Expose Keke Palmer’s Racist Co-star With Proof
Although Palmer is willing to let sleeping dogs lie, her fans aren’t. Following her revelation, they entered detective mode and scoured her social media to see which of her co-stars she wasn’t on good terms with. Among the 3,000 people the actress follows are Roberts, Breslin, and Billie Lourd. However, Lea Michele is nowhere to be found. “Keke follows almost all of her Scream Queens co-stars on Instagram *except* for Lea Michele,” one fan observed.
“Of course it was her, not that surprised anymore.” another comment read.
“We been knew & this isn’t the 1st time she did this to a Black woman under RM project,” a third fan claimed.
“Considering a lot of people have spoken up about how Lea was on the set of Glee, it’s no shocker that she said some shit to Keke, too,” a fourth fan alleged.
“After hearing a personal story about her from an ex-coworker, I’m convinced Leah is one of the most entitled celebrities in the world,” a fifth remark read.
It comes as no surprise that fans suspect Michele is the culprit, given that she has been previously accused of racism to a co-star. In 2020, actress Samantha Ware called out Michele for her behavior on the set of Glee. Ware alleged that she made her time on her first acting gig a “living hell.” Other Glee stars, Alex Newell, Heather Morris, and Jeanté Godlock, also recalled bad experiences with the New Year’s Eve actress. Per CBS, Michele apologized in a statement on social media, saying she “acted in ways which hurt other people.”
