Far Cry 6 allows players to get a taste of the fresh world of Yara. With plenty of islands to visit, weapons to acquire, and enemies to put down, there’s no end to the carnage and discovery. On your adventures, you make friends with many Amigos (the companion system from past Far Cry games). If you’re the type to play the silent and deadly approach (I’d consider you a heathen for that, but to each their own), then these Amigos can get in the way more often than not. If you’re someone running into this issue, I’m here to help. In this guide, I’ll explain how to get Amigos to stop following you in Far Cry 6!

How to Get Amigos to Stop Following You in Far Cry 6
To get Amigos to stop following you, you’ll first want to open the pause menu on your platform of choice. Once done, navigate to the Amigos tab to see a full list of Amigos that you’ve unlocked. If you’re reading this guide, chances are you only have Guapo unlocked thus far (you adorable little man-eating alligator). As such, if you want him gone for the time being, click on his portrait and press the Dismiss button. This will depend on your platform of choice, but should you be playing on your PC, you can do it by pressing Space by default. After this, your Amigo will despawn, and you’ll be free to get all the silent but deadly stealth kills you desire.
Now, in the event you get tired of this slow-paced assassination fiesta, you can simply repeat these steps and bring your Amigo back into your party. From there, they’ll be back to slaughtering every opponent in sight and being the best buddy you could ask for (or the best bullet sponge).
