Far Cry last received an installment last year with Far Cry New Dawn. It was a solid installment in the franchise, but it was more of a continuation of the fifth game than a mainline entry.  With that in mind though, fans are hungering for news regarding the next entry, and today, we finally have that. Announced today at Ubisoft Forward, Far Cry 6 is coming February 18th, 2021 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, and Stadia. With the announcement, you can find the beautiful world premiere trailer below.

Far Cry 6 puts you in the shoes of Dani Rojas, a resident of the chaotic Yara. Dictator Anton Castillo (Giancarlo Esposito) looks to bring his country back to its former glory, no matter the cost. His regime is a tyrannical one, and it’s up to you and the Yaran people to put it down. Join the revolution and push back Anton’s power in an attempt to take back a country and stop his son Diego from taking his place. You do this all in the sprawling city of Esperanza, promised to be the most expansive world of Far Cry yet.

How you want to take down Anton is completely up to you. You can stick to the shadows, taking down his regime silently and without confrontation. On the other hand, you can go at him head-on with everything you’ve got. Considering this is a Far Cry game, I think we both know which one you’ll choose. With these new ways to play also comes some new and fresh toys. You can use anything from your usual horse up to a tank, and that’s not even including the weapons. Far Cry 6 promises to be one of the best Far Cry experiences we’ve seen yet, and we can’t wait to try it when it comes out early next year.

We’d love to hear your thoughts though. Are you excited about Far Cry 6? Anything from the other Far Cry games that you hope makes a return this time around? Let us know, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
