If you want to level up fast in Warhammer 40K: Darktide, you will need to take back the city of Teritum from hordes of different, unique enemies. Although similar to most games, leveling up in Warhammer 40K: Darktide works slightly differently. Instead of leveling the very character, you get to increase your Trust Rank, which then unlocks new cosmetics and weapons for your character to use. Completing missions and side objectives and collecting some items increases your Trust Rank.

The latest Class Overhaul revamp patch has brought numerous changes to the base game, but some things have remained the same. For instance, the maximum level you can reach is still Level 30, and the fastest way to level up is to play missions at a higher difficulty. However, instead of receiving Feats for your different builds, Fatshark has brought Talent Points for every level with the new patch. This, of course, doesn’t change the speed of leveling, but it lets you experiment with your character build, since you can edit the way you assign talent points in the new talent tree. Anyways, here are a few winning strategies to reach higher levels quicker than expected.

Lower Level Difficulty

Like in any other game, you must complete missions to level up in Warhammer 40K: Darktide. You will earn some experience with every mission completed. This will earn you higher Trust levels and access to new cosmetics, weapons, gears, and facilities aboard the Mourningstar.

So, venture out, and slay some bloodthirsty enemies to suppress the Nurgle infestation and cult. If you are new to the game, we suggest you start with the lower-level mission at first, just to get to know the basics of the game. This won’t help you increase your Trust Rank quickly, but provides a great starting point as you can jump on a higher difficulty level mission.

Higher Level Difficulty

As you get to know the basics of the combat and game overall, it is time to up the ante a bit. When starting a new mission, make sure to choose the ‘Uprising’ difficulty level. Difficulty One now won’t be worthwhile your time and won’t provide enough experience to level up fast in Warhammer 40K: Darktide. As you progress through the ranks and reach level 20, you will be good to play on Malice and Heresy difficulty levels. Moreover, make sure to choose missions with Conditions and additional objectives as these will grant you higher XP.

Warhammer 40K: Darktide Maelstrom Missions

Warhammer 40K: Darktide has the Maelstrom Missions, which missions bring fresh, challenging conditions to the mission board. They offer higher XP and Ordo Dockets rewards but can be tough. So, if you still aren’t a pro player, we recommend playing simpler missions on higher difficulty.

Reduced XP Level Needed for Leveling Up

Fatshark has also helped Warhammer 40K: Darktide players progress quickly. In a bid to streamline progression, the game has seen adjustments to Experience Points (XP) requirements. Levels 2 through 20 now require approximately 20% less XP to achieve. This reduction aims to make the leveling experience more fluid and enjoyable. Importantly, no characters will lose levels due to this adjustment.

If you are struggling to grasp fast leveling in Warhammer 40K: Darktide, here is a short version of things you need to do:

  1. Star your missions on a lower difficulty, such as Sedition. Though it won’t give you a quick XP benefit, it will ready you up for higher difficulty.
  2. As you learn the game, change the difficulty to Uprising, and eventually Malice and Heresy.
  3. Recently, Darktide has introduced Malestrom Missions with conditions and the highest XP gains. Focus on them once you master the game.
  4. Important thing to know, leveling up in Warhammer 40K: Darktide is faster by 20% with recent patches.
