SNK has announced a lot of new information related to Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves during the EVO Awards, which includes details about the upcoming open beta, the release schedule of the season 1 characters, and a boss from the previous game returning as a playable fighter, Kain R. Heinlein.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Characters & Schedules

The season 1 pass lineup for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves includes the previously announced fighters from Street Fighter 6, as well as some returning faces. Ken and Andy Bogard will join the roster in the Summer, Joe Higashi will come to the game during the fall, and Chun-Li during the winter. Finally, Mr. Big will be the last character to join the cast in early 2026. This comes up to a total of 22 characters, 17 on release, and 5 during the first season.

The ones among you with gray-streaked hair probably remember Kain R. Heinlein, the mastermind boss in Garou: Mark of the Wolves, but this time he will be playable and part of the roster.

The test will run from February 20 – 24, and will give players ample time to get to know how the new system mechanics work, and how the rollback netcode will perform when the full release rolls around.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will come out on April 21, 2025, on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game’s launch price of the $60 special edition includes the season 1 pass in it, and if you opt for the deluxe edition, you can get an extra Terry costume and some other physical goodies.
