Developers of Vermintide, Fatshark has released the Sigmar’s Blessing DLC this week. The DLC for the recently released game, just two weeks ago, in fact, it seems that the developers have listened to both players and press. The new DLC improves on some of the game’s shortcomings including some we pointed out in our review of Vermintide. The loot system has been re-worked with the addition of the ‘Shrine of Solace’ where players can now use tokens obtained in the game to ‘pray’ for a class-specific weapon.

They have added a veteran tier, bolstering the number of weapons obtainable in game by 40. With the addition of the ‘Shrine of Solace’ the tokens used to upgrade weapons have also been re-worked, players will now receive more tokens from salvaged items. In addition, the tokens will now also be used in the shrine to pray for items.
Along with the addition of new items, items themselves have received an overhaul, new weapon traits have been added to make all weapons even more unique from one another, these include: Off balance, Backstabbery, Inspirational Shot, Inspirational Shot and Safety in Numbers. The DLC also includes new hero trinkets, which increase your chances of finding loot for specific classes.
The update also includes several performance improvements including menu optimisation to reduce CPU usage and AI improvements, both for Skaven and team bots. CEO of Fatshark, Martin Wahlund said recently: “Going forward, Vermintide will offer alternating free and paid DLC.”
