Sometimes the news makes me whip my head around to take a look. And in Montana of all places. In what sounds like a comedy skit, several staff members at an animal shelter were sent home due to the burning of methamphetamine. Not by the state members, mind you, but the FBI using an incinerator. As it turns out, the incinerator the FBI used wasn’t technically theirs, but belonged to the shelter itself.
According to TikTok user Aaron Parnas, the Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter in Montana had to evacuate over a dozen staff members and over 70 dogs and cats. With the meth burning in the shelter’s incinerator, it soon filled the air. Not to mention sounding incredibly dangerous. As if it couldn’t get weirder, this wasn’t the first time the law enforcement used the incinerator to burn away drugs.
It sounds like a dumb idea but, allegedly, this was a freak accident that happened to lead to disaster. The smoke from the meth burn was pushed in the wrong direction, leading directly inside the shelter. Staff members spent three hours in hyperbaric chambers after the exposure. Unfortunately, a lot of the animals had to be closely monitored because of adverse effects.
What makes it particularly scary is the fact none of the staff were aware of the burning. It certainly sounds like something you’d let everyone in the building know ahead of time, right? Aaron Parnas added at the end, “Just another day in the Trump FBI.”
Of course commenters had a field day, in addition to being appalled and disgusted. “South Park writers will have material for decades,” said one commenter. The creators definitely wouldn’t waste a good story like that to spoof. Another person asked, “I’m sorry, did you just say that the FBI hotboxed themselves with cats and dogs in an animal shelter with crystal?” another person asked.
Apparently, some people didn’t even know it happened. “I am a local of Billings, Montana. We basically heard about none of this in any local news. It was the workers that actually let the community know. I hope they all have a steady recovery,” said an uninformed local. People love their animals!
