Following one of the best episodes in the series so far, Fear the Walking Dead returns this Sunday with an all new episode titled “Captive.” In last week’s episode “Blood in the Streets”, we saw Alicia and Travis taken off the Abigail as captives by Conner and his followers. Those aboard the Abigail managed to escape and kill their captors with the help of Nick and the associate of Strand that Nick went to find. Madison and Nick will lead the group to rescue their family while simultaneously Alicia works toward the same goal aboard her captors’ ship along with her father.

The group evolved quite a bit as the show has progressed and we’ve seen Madison go into full on protective mom mode in the final moments of last week’s episode. She rammed a crowbar through one of her captors with malice in her eyes. We also saw Nick go through a pretty gross moment to mask himself from the infected and he continues to show himself as an individual who will do what needs to be done, no matter how ugly the process. Given the events last week and the backstory shown with Strand, it’ll be very interesting to see where his character goes from here. I immediately assumed Strand was gay after last week but after hearing an interview by Colman Domingo who plays Strand, I’m not so sure. The mysterious Connor will again show up in this week’s episode of Fear the Walking Dead and it is still unclear just how ruthless or understanding this individual may be. Travis is also said to see a “familiar face” this week. Could it be the woman Strand cut loose last week and how could that potentially affect the rescue? So many gears are turning and it’s going to be incredibly interesting to see how it all works out.
