Adventurers seeking to join the ranks of these valiant defenders can do so by completing the Main Scenario Quest at Level 20.

FFXIV: Which Grand Company Should You Choose?

Players can join one of three Grand Companies to protect their homeland. It’s a cosmetic choice affecting location, but each Final Fantasy XIV Grand Company ranks has its backstory. The Immortal Flames of Ul’Dah bolster the army, the Maelstrom of Limsa Lominsa expands the Admiral’s power, and the Order of the Twin Adder of Gridania has the Seedseers overseeing the forest’s safety. 

Joining a Grand Company offers rewards, including missions that grant experience points. Still, ultimately, it’s up to the player to choose which one they like the most, whether it’s for the lore, the looks, or the perks.

  • Private Third Class: Requires 2000 seals, maximum seals 10000
  • Private Second Class: Requires 3000 seals, maximum seals 15000
  • Private First Class: Requires 4000 seals, maximum seals 20000
  • Corporal: Requires 5000 seals, maximum seals 25000
  • Sergeant Third Class: Requires 6000 seals, maximum seals 30000, must complete Company Hunting Log Rank 1
  • Sergeant Second Class: Requires 7000 seals, maximum seals 35000
  • Sergeant First Class: Requires 8000 seals, maximum seals 40000
  • Chief Sergeant: Requires 9000 seals, maximum seals 45000, must complete the quest “Shadows Uncast”
  • Second Lieutenant: Requires 10000 seals, maximum seals 50000, must complete the quest “Gilding the Bilious” and Company Hunting Log Rank 2
  • First Lieutenant: Maximum seals 80000, must achieve Rank 3 Adventurer Squadron
  • Captain: Maximum seals 90000, must complete 5 Unique Command Missions and Squadron Mission “Flagged Mission: Sapper Strike”

How to Increase Grand Company Ranks in Final Fantasy XIV

If you aspire to climb the ranks in Grand Companies, do Supply and Provisioning Delivery Missions, donate rare equipment, and complete Grand Company Leves and Hunting Log. These activities can earn you valuable Grand Company seals, unlocking new dungeons and opportunities to flex your command.

FFXIV: Best Way to Get Company Seals

If you want to jump ranks quickly in your Final Fantasy XIV Grand Company, your best bet is to tackle the hunt log for every class. If that’s done, then farm fates and crawl through dungeons. The hunting log for different classes offers a great way to earn seals and promote them to a higher rank. Once you’ve unlocked command missions, you’ll need to send them out solo about ten times before running ten more missions with them to hit the rank cap. It’s a bit of a grind, but you can make it to the top ranks quickly with a little perseverance.
