The grand finale of this year’s Summer Game Fest was a brand-new gameplay trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. That’s right, the rumors about the open-world feature for the game might as well be true due to the gameplay we just saw.

Even if it wasn’t the longest Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth gameplay reveal, it was still full of content and a great way to close Summer Game Fest 2023. As mentioned during a recent interview, players can explore open areas, and today’s trailer more than confirms it. Chocobo mounts are coming, which is huge for this game’s beloved world. One thing that has fans excited is the release window of early 2024. Many would’ve thought this game was far from done, but we might get it sooner than expected. Plus, this is the second of the three games Square Enix is planning, so we hope this title gives us plenty of hours to sink in while we wait for the conclusion of this Final Fantasy game.
