Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis has finally gotten a release date of September 7 for IOS and Android devices. The highly anticipated compilation game seeks to put every Final Fantasy VII story into one experience that will only be available on phones for now. Rather than utilize the new combat systems introduced in Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core: Reunion, Ever Crisis will return to a turn-based formula that relies on Gacha mechanics to influence encounters.

What to Expect From the Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis Release

The Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis release is quite ambitious. It takes every Final Fantasy VII property, including the now discontinued FFVII: First Soldier, and the stories of FFVII: Crisis Core, Advent Children, and FFVII: Dirge of Cerberus, and combines them into one experience. The nostalgic graphics have been given a modern upgrade as well. For many fans, this is a dream, and surely, they will flock to their respective app stores to grab this game. However, the Gacha mechanics have plenty of fans wary of the game, worrying the random nature of Gacha games will tamper with their beloved story.

That won’t stop the majority of players, though, as pre-registration is available with plenty of bonuses for players who sign up early. Square Enix has already reached 1.5 million sign-ups, so it’s clear this is going to be a massive game, whether Final Fantasy purists like it or not.

The draw system in the game is what will determine the equipment your characters get. This involves everything from weapons to Materia and introduces an element of pay-to-win to Final Fantasy VII. However, it is possible to play the game as-is without spending real money and still have an enjoyable experience.

The Final Fantasy VII train does not stop here, as Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth is set to release in early 2024, with yet another part of that story still to come later. Square Enix has revived the Final Fantasy name in a big way over the past three years. With the recently released, outstanding Final Fantasy 16, it appears that the forgotten king of the gaming industry has returned in a big way to regain its crown.

The Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis release date is September 7 for IOS and Android devices.
